Judith B. McKinstry Scholarship

Judith B. McKinstry is a woman who has given a significant amount of her time and energy to Business Professionals of America at the local, state, and national levels. She was not only a chapter advisor but also served for more than 20 years as the State Director and has served on the National Board of Trustees. She exemplifies what it takes to be a true servant leader.
This scholarship is awarded to students who share the servant leadership characteristics that Judith B. McKinstry embodies:
- Puts the people they serve first; exhibits a genuine interest and empathy towards others
- Exhibits strong leadership potential
- Committed to the growth of others in the community they serve
- Collaborates effectively with others
- May hold leadership positions in school or in their community and/or participates in community service
- Demonstrates the kindness towards others that Judith B. McKinstry exhibits
Students must be nominated for this award. Advisors can nominate students here.
State Pin Contest

CTE Excellence Award
Awarded to one secondary student for their participation in industry learning and career exploration.
Industry Immersion Award
Awarded to one post-secondary student for their participation in industry and career exploration.
Individual Service/Impact Award
Awarded to a member for their contribution to a community service project or event they undertook individually or led personally OR who has introduced a creative idea, project, or initiative that had a tangible positive impact on the chapter, school, or community.
Service/Impact Contributor Award
Awarded to a member for their participation in or leadership of a chapter-based community service effort OR who has contributed to a creative idea, project, or initiative that had a tangible positive impact on the chapter, school, or community
Additional Honors Awards include:
● Student of the Year: Awarded to one student for their outstanding achievements within BPA including
leadership, service, and academic excellence.
● Advisor of the Year: Awarded to one advisor for the outstanding support and service to BPA at the
chapter and state level (submitted by a student).
Students should submit for the two above awards by filling out the application here.
● Emerging Member Award: Awarded to one student for their outstanding involvement in BPA in their
first two years of membership with a high potential to continue serving as an active member.
● Chapter Officer Excellence Award: Awarded to one chapter officer for their outstanding contributions
to BPA and their local community.
